Fabric players often search for a Simple Storage Mod Fabric build and come up empty-handed. That is because Simple Storage Network targets Forge and NeoForge only. The good news is that the same idea, one searchable screen for all your chests, is fully available on Fabric. Here is what works, what does not and how to set it up.
Why there is no Fabric build
Simple Storage Network is written against the Forge and NeoForge APIs. Porting a mod to Fabric is a separate project, and the developer has focused on keeping the existing loaders current instead.
What about Sinytra Connector?
Compatibility layers can sometimes run Forge-family mods on Fabric, but storage mods touch a lot of inventory code. Expect bugs, and never test it on a world you care about.
The closest Fabric option
Tom's Simple Storage Mod has an official Fabric version. It offers a storage terminal, a crafting terminal, an inventory connector, inventory cables and wireless terminals. For most players it covers everything they wanted from Simple Storage Network.
Installing on Fabric
- Install the Fabric loader for your Minecraft version.
- Add Fabric API to your
modsfolder. - Add the Tom's Simple Storage Fabric jar.
- Launch with the Fabric profile and check the Mods list.
Differences you will notice
No filtered export cables
Machine feeding relies more on hoppers or a separate transport mod. Plan automation around that.
Connector-first layout
Chests connect to an inventory connector rather than to a cable network with a root. Build your storage room around the connector.
Other Fabric storage mods
If you need heavy automation, look at larger systems with Fabric builds, and compare them in our alternatives table. For a lighter, vanilla-feeling setup, Tom's remains the easiest pick.
Switching loaders later
